So Who is Guarding The Winnebago County Courthouse?
Budget cuts have lead to layoffs, and now there are safety questions.
Winnebago County leaders asked Sheriff Gary Caruana to somehow cut $4 million dollars from his budget. This leads to a ton of questions, with the top issue being public safety.
So how exactly will security work now at the Winnebago County Courthouse? Thousands travel through the courthouse daily, and public safety is crucial. So now what happens, who is there to watch over the daily happenings? Do they outsource and get a cheaper, private security firm? Having people that aren't properly trained to protect us, kinda scares me.
A new budget will be voted on next Thursday.
