Sixteen Candles Called Illinois’ All-Time Most Popular Romantic Comedy

Confusing times for people who want to settle in and watch a romantic comedy for Valentine's Day.

Earlier this week, a different poll mentioned The 40-Year-Old Virgin as Illinois' most popular romantic comedy of the century. As in, most popular romantic comedy since 2000.

Maybe that's the difference, Comparitech was looking for the most popular romantic comedy of ALL-TIME in Illinois.

Illinois for Sixteen Candles: An 80s classic and another coming-of-age movie, Sixteen Candles stars Molly Ringwald who plays Samantha. Samantha’s parents ignore her, and her private quiz answer ends up in the wrong hands, making her “sweet” 16 becomes anything but.

So there are two different studies, with two different movies topping the list as "most popular." Between Sixteen Candles and The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which of those is your favorite romantic comedy or is it something else?
