If you don't care for a particular food or meal just add bacon to make it taste much better. It's funny with the science of cooking you really can make some amazing dishes featuring bacon. Of course, bacon just by itself is great too. I actually can't think of anyone off the top of my head that doesn't like bacon. It's a very popular food.

What's Better Than Bacon? Baconfest In Illinois

I have gone to bacon-related events and had a fun time. So many different ways to eat bacon. A Baconfest definitely takes it to the next level. The second annual Baconfest is Saturday, July 9th from 11 am to 9 pm at The Warehouse on Park in Genoa, Illinois (662 Park Avenue). Tickets are just $10 and on sale now, HERE, or at the door.

There will be plenty of vendors selling bacon-themed food items. Listen to live music. Serving up a keg of bacon-infused beer from Byers Brewery specially tapped by the mayor of Genoa at 1 pm. Join the bags tournament. Must be 16 or older.  No outside food, drinks, pets (service dogs are fine), or tents are allowed. Bring your lawn chairs.

The bacon food vendors include All The Smoke BBQ, Sib's Corner Grill, Gray Goat, BBQ & Meats, Cookie's W/Flavor, and Little O's. Live music by The Rhythm Section (noon to 2 pm), Six-Pack Band (3 pm to 5 pm), and Hillbilly Rockstarz (6 pm to 9 pm).
