Well, it's becoming more and more likely Rockford will get accumulating snow on Halloween.

Last week we told you it was coming. With weather being... weather... we shared Rockford meteorologists' forecasts, which are a little more specific now. Rockford's weather crew are all agreeing on a chance of snowy precipitation for the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area tonight, Monday.

Candice King at WTVO/FOX39 says the highest chance for sticky snow is coming later this week.

A band of heavy precipitation may develop right over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin heading into Friday morning. If temperatures are cold enough, we could see the precipitation changeover to accumulating snow during that time. It’s still way too early to get into specifics, but this storm system definitely has caught our attention – and it should yours too.

The folks at WREX thinks snow could come a little earlier.

The highest chance looks to be Tuesday night through Wednesday.  With such cold air in place, a rain/snow mixture is possible through much of the middle work week.

WIFR is reporting the possibility of a two-part system, with the second being the highest probability.

By the time this week is over, most spots in the Stateline will have seen their first snowflakes of the season. And depending on how these systems play out, some spots MAY see the first accumulating snow.

Though the dreaded "s" word is being discussed, the ground is way too warm to worry about much accumulation. Weather.com is also on the "you might see snow" bandwagon.

Bottom line: don't be surprised if you see a few big flakes. And, tell your kids to plan on going to school every day this week.
