Rockford High School Football Coaching Legend Dan Appino Steps Down

One of the best high school football coaches of all time in our area steps down.

Dan Appino won back-to-back state titles with the Boylan Titans and then had an incredible run with the Auburn Knights. According to RRSTAR Coach, Appino had stepped down.

Coach Appino's Auburn Knight days included making it to the playoffs in five of his six years as head coach. Auburn had a 43-20 record over the past six years, with two NIC-10 championships

Coach Dan Appino was quoted as saying:

“I have reached a point in my career and life where the energy and enthusiasm needed to maintain that high-level position has eclipsed my ability and desire to fulfill those needs on a continual basis.”
