Rock and Roll Recap for March 4 featuring Fred Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, John Lennon and more. (Yes, Fred Zeppelin.)

1986 - The Band's pianist and lead singer, Richard Manuel, committed suicide by hanging himself.

1982 - Rolling Stone magazine reported that Dweezil and Moon Unit Zappa had formed a new band called Fred Zeppelin.

1970 - Janis Joplin was fined $200 for using obscene language onstage in Tampa, Florida.

1966 - John Lennon stated that The Beatles, quote, "are probably bigger than Jesus right now."

Now a days, if Janis was here, she wouldn't get fined for swearing on stage. She may, on the other hand, get fined for wearing that thing on her head.
