2007 - Mary Forsberg, then-wife of Scott Weiland, was arrested on suspicion of burning over 10-thousand-dollars worth of his belongings outside of their home in California.

2003 - John Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool was opened to the public. Yoko Ono was on hand for the festivities and told reporters Lennon would have been against the war in Iraq.

1998 - Alice Cooper broke ground for Cooper's Town, a rock and roll-themed restaurant that would be built three blocks from the Arizona Diamondbacks' baseball stadium in Phoenix.

1987 - U2 filmed their video "Where the Streets Have No Name" on a rooftop in L.A.

1986 - Sammy Hagar played his first show as lead singer of Van Halen.

1981 - AC/DC released "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap."

1979 - Pattie Boyd and Eric Clapton were married. She inspired "Layla."

"Layla" will always be one of my favorites, especially his performance at Madison Square Garden.
