1996 - The second Beatles anthology album was released. It featured "Real Love," crafted using an old demo of John Lennon's from 1977.

1995 - Bruce Springsteen started a two-week run at number one on the U.S. album chart with his "Greatest Hits."

1982 - Randy Rhodes of Ozzy Osbourne's solo band was killed. A plane that he was flying clipped Ozzy's tour bus and crashed into a house in Florida. Randy was 25 years old.

1975 - KISS released their third third album, "Dressed to Kill."

1965 - The Rolling Stones were asked by "Tailor and Cutter" magazine to wear ties to save the tie-making industry from going out of business.

1964 - The Beatles were honored as show business personalities for the year 1963 by UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
