2004 - A judge in L.A. ordered Courtney Love to stand trial for two counts of drug possession. She appeared in court with a copy of the book, "The 48 Laws of Power," and told the judge she'd be "on tour" on the date of her next hearing.

2003 - Fleetwood Mac released their 17th album, "Say You Will." It was the first in 30 years not to include tracks written by Christine McVie, who left the band in 1998.

1966 - Buffalo Springfield performed for the first time, as the opening act for The Byrds in San Bernardino, California.
