2009 - George Harrison was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Paul McCartney was on hand for the unveiling, joining Harrison's widow Olivia and son Dhani.

1989 - Tom Petty released his first solo album, "Full Moon Fever."

1980 - A New Jersey state assemblyman introduced a resolution to make Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run" the official state song.

1963 - The Beatles first met The Rolling Stones after a Stones concert in Richmond, England.
