1991 - Ringo Starr was a guest on "The Simpsons."

1981 - Eddie Van Halen married actress Valerie Bertinelli.

1970 - Guitarist Peter Green quit Fleetwood Mac while on tour in Germany. To avoid breach of contract, he agreed to finish the current tour.

1961 - Bob Dylan made his New York City debut at Gerde's Folk City. Dylan opened for blues great John Lee Hooker.

When Ringo Starr was on "The Simpsons," it was one of my favorite episodes. I still giggle every time I see when Homer finds Marge's collection of Ringo's paintings.
