Yes, being pregnant is tough on Mom, but it's tough on Dad too.

On this weeks edition of From a First Time Mom, I want to make this one all about Dad.

Yes, my body is changing drastically, I'm extremely uncomfortable, I can't sleep and the sight of chicken terrifies me. While I am feeling many physical side effects, my husband is going through this entire pregnancy too.

It's no surprise that my growing belly is getting all the attention. Wherever I go, I have strangers asking me how I'm feeling, when I'm due and more all while my husband stands next to me with a blank face.

Guess what!? It's his baby too! It would be nice for a stranger, or anyone for that matter, acknowledge that my husband exists and that his entire world is also changing. A simple congratulations to him wouldn't hurt anyone, now would it? After all, he is the one getting me chocolate peanut butter ice cream at ungodly times in the morning.

You know what else, dad-to-be? Take some time for yourself. I insist. Go to the bar with your friends until 1 a.m. Go see a movie, BBQ a full rack of ribs and eat the entire thing. Daddy-to-be goes to doctor's appointments, gets my strange food requests, visits baby stores and without asking brings me a fresh glass of water every night while I'm asleep just in case I wake up thirsty. My husband is so concerned with the well being of baby and I, that it's important that he doesn't forget to take time for himself too.

Recently, my husband and I got in the silliest argument. Well, more like a full blown screaming match. Pregnancy can be stressful on both mommy and daddy! Yes, we had an intense screaming match over corn on the cob. Honestly, the story is hilarious in my eyes now but the message behind the story is what matters most.

Here's how the 'Corn on the Cob' screaming match ensued:

For the record, he got his way. Something as silly as how to transport corn on the cob to the backyard can really end up in a full blown war. Not for any other reason than we are expecting our first baby and we are BOTH stressed out!

See, it's about Dad too. As much as my life is changing, so is his.
