The Chicago Cubs are on quite a run during the baseball playoffs and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has been the most prominent celebrity fan of the team, showing up at several games during the playoffs. Seeing an opportunity to do some good, Pearl Jam have designed some new merchandise that is sure to be a favorite of both fans of Vedder and the Cubs.

The new Eddie Vedder Northsider shirts are currently on sale via the band's merchandise site in both white and blue colors for men and women with a logo similar to that of the Cubs, but with "EV" in place of the familiar "C." In addition, Vedder's name and the number 15 in honor of the year of this historic Cubs run appear on the back of the shirts.

The description on the order form states, "October is time to take the world seriously! Celebrate the season, at home or away, with the EV Northsider shirt. We hope that this will go all the way and become a new fall classic." To check them out and to order, click here.

A portion of proceeds from the sales will be given to The Foundation to be Named Later. If that sounds familiar, that's because back in July Vedder was joined by a number of Chicago Cubs players at a benefit performance at Chicago's Metro to raise funds for the charitable organization. The foundation, initiated by acclaimed baseball analyst and rock enthusiast Peter Gammons, provides scholarships to urban youths and families. To learn more about the organization, click here.

Vedder recently revealed that he has a scheduling conflict should the Cubs make the World Series as Pearl Jam will be on tour in South America. With the Cubs seemingly stacked with young talent and expected to be good for some time, Vedder admitted that Pearl Jam may rethink touring during the month of October in the years to come to accommodate his fandom.
