Two of The Most Expensive Homes For Sale in Rockford May be Overpriced
Could you guess the most expensive place to live in Illinois? It's not Chicago, Naperville, or Schaumburg. The correct answer is Kenilworth, where the average cost of a home is $1.428 million. That's a lot of Benjamins.
Rockford is not on the list of most expensive places to live based on housing costs but there are two homes that could be the most expensive in the entire state of Illinois.
We all have a dream home (or homes), right? Maybe it's on a beach, in the middle of the woods, or dozens of stories in the air overlooking a beautiful landscape. Maybe it's in your own backyard. I decided to check out the most expensive homes for sale in Rockford today and I was shocked but what I found.
Not only are these homes ridiculously expensive, but they are also separately the most expensive properties for sale in the entire area. I would guess they're the most expensive in the entire state.
These homes aren't in any gated communities or surround by acres of land. They don't have long winding driveways, pools, or a guest house. They're located in average neighborhoods, in fact.
The first house, the cheaper of the two, is located on Rockford's southeast side. It's a 3-bedroom, 1-bath, cape cod home. The Zillow listing mentions a huge upper bedroom and a large fenced yard. It's located at 2116 19th Avenue.
The cost? $64,900,000! Check out the listing.
The next home is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath bungalow "rich in natural woodwork" and a fireplace.
Located at 1707 Ridge Avenue and listed for a staggering $94,900,000. Here's the listing.
