A lot has happened since Alex Trebek signed off of Jeopardy! for the final time before succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

America's Favorite Quiz Show® has seen multiple hosts throw questions are people who are much smarter than most of us including Mayim Bialik, Mike Richards, Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, LeVar Burton, and Ken Jennings.

Things got even weirder for Jeopardy! when Mike Richards, the show's executive producer, was announced. All sorts of drama hit the fan when Richards made sexist comments on a podcast.

Drama aside, a Jeopardy! fan from Rockford, Illinois finally got his shot to be on the show as a contestant. The episode, hosted by Ken Jennings, aired Thanksgiving night, according to the show's official YouTube channel.

Ged Trias has auditioned for the show twice, according to a local news report, and audition number one didn't pan out. Luckily for Trias, he didn't give up.

His second attempt landed him a spot on the show, which he learned about on his birthday.

it's a million times different than sitting at home yelling your answers at the TV.

The audition process for Jeopardy! involves several tests and auditions, it can be grueling. (This is just what I've heard, there's no way I'd ever audition for that show.)

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN JEOPARDY

In the decades I've been watching the show I've ever correctly answered a round of Final Jeopardy!. The same goes for the episode featuring Rockford, Illinois resident Ged Trias.

My guess was "Don't take no for an answer" and I was way off. What was Ged's guess?
