New Report Dubs Wisconsin As One of America’s Most Dangerous States to Work
Going to work in the middle of a pandemic is tough enough, but adding in the chance of getting injured while working makes it that much more difficult.
In a new report published by BestLife, taking a hard look at the most dangerous states to work in America, say there is no more dangerous of a place to work than in North Dakota.
The state (North Dakota) had the most reported work-related injuries, with a total of 607 since 2016, which equates to a whopping 79.86 injuries per 100,000 people (nearly double the rate in Indiana).
Closer to home, Wisconsin is also considered one of the most dangerous states to work in America.
Taking the middle of the top 10 list, Wisconsin came in fifth with 2,681 work-related injuries in five years. The state has a population of 5,813,568, so that translates to 46.12 injuries per 100,000 people.
A quick Google search revealed UW Credit Union, Exact Sciences Corporation, First Weber Realtors, and Summit Credit Union to be some of the best places to work in Wisconsin.
They don't seem too dangerous.
On the other hand, looking for the most dangerous jobs in the US I ran across a list from Advisor Smith.
They say Logging Workers are most likely to be injured on the job. Followed by Aircraft Pilots, Flight Engineers, and Roofers.
I even ran across a posting for a "logging job near me" post for jobs in Wisconsin with one that said "No experience required."
It sounds like logging is dangerous to begin with, but hiring people with no experience in the field sounds like a recipe for disaster.
