It's just insane how expensive the cost of living has gotten everywhere. Most working Americans aren't getting raises from their companies. Corporations are making big money while their employees struggle to pay the bills. A dollar doesn't buy even close to what it used to. You almost need to take out a loan to fill your tank with gas or purchase food for your family at the grocery store. It's really difficult to find somewhere affordable to live in anymore.

Say what you will about Rockford, but in reality, it's still an affordable place to live. My mom's home is in the suburbs. When I go visit her, I get sticker shock from the price of everything. It's ridiculous. If you think things are expensive here, go into the Chicago area. That will freak you out. I don't know how people afford to live there.

Checking in at number four is the Quad Cities which includes Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. I've visited there a few times and always had fun. It seems like a nice place to me.
