Two high school marching bands from Illinois will be competing in the second annual competition sponsored by one of the biggest bands in the world.

Metallica is not only one of the biggest Rock bands in the world, but they are also one of the most popular bands of all time. Like them or not, you have to respect their career and the things they do to give back to the fans and community.

Back when I was in school, marching band wasn't one of the more popular activities for students. Through the years it's gotten a lot cooler. Plus, their music selections are much better. A lot of them are playing Rock songs, including from Metallica.

Metallica has noticed that many high school bands are playing Metallics songs so they're getting behind the movement in a big way. They're hosting the second annual Metallica Marching Band Competition.
This time around two Illinois high school marching bands have made the final cut for the voting. They are Schaumburg High School and Back Of The Yards College Preparatory High School in Chicago.
There's a lot on the line with a huge prize package going to the winner. It includes new music equipment for the marching band which isn't cheap. To top it off, the musicians will also score access to the marching band charts for Metallica songs which is a huge investment for any school.
The competition is going on now so make sure you support these two Illinois schools and go vote for them now. Winning this contest would be a game-changer for any school marching band program.
