I'm going to try real hard not to go on a tangent about the staffing shortages happening in our country right now, but I will say this, I'm tired of seeing businesses closing. Whether the closings are temporary, or permanent, I can't help but feel a lot of them could be avoidable if people would just be willing to work. But again, we're not going to talk about that right now.

Ready for some bummer news?

Mary's Market is Permanently Closing Their Roscoe Cafe

To be fair, I don't know if Mary's Market's decision to permanently close their Roscoe location has anything to do with lack of employees, but I'm willing to be it could be part of it. Here's the official announcement made yesterday, (Wednesday, February 2, 2022) on Facebook...

If I'm reading that announcement correctly, it means today, Thursday, February 3, 2022, is the last day you can enjoy a delicious meal, treat, or beverage at Mary's Market in Roscoe.

Could the Closure of Mary's Market in Roscoe Mean Good Things for Rockford?

This is purely speculation and wishful thinking, but could Mary's Market closing their Roscoe location mean they can send employees to Edgebrook and reopen it sooner than this Spring/Summer?  Just to jog your memory, here is the announcement about the Edgebrook location's closure back in January...please notice the part where they mention applying for a job online.

If you are now freaking out that your upcoming event that was going to be catered Mary's Market is no longer happening, stop panicking! Events are still being scheduled and catered, and you can get more info about having Mary's Market handle the dirty work for your next event, here.
