A Marengo boy battling Leukemia meets his hero, a Stateline soldier.

This heartwarming story comes from our friends at MyStateline.com.

A 6-year-old boy, Shawn Keller, was diagnosed in August of 2011 with leukemia. This sweet boy wrote a letter to Private Joseph Fredrick, a soldier who happens to be coming home, thanking him for his service. Shawn is Private Fredrick's biggest fan.

Private Fredrick was so moved by the letter from Shawn that the two met when Private Fredrick came home. Private Fredrick came with gifts for Shawn and he even gave him his medal for completing boot camp.

Shawn's parents also said that they hope his final chemo could be in mid-October.
