Make-A-Wish Is Looking For Rockford Volunteers
One of the best foundations in the world needs some help from Rockford residents.
More than 150 medical conditions qualify a child for Make-A-Wish. This year, nearly 1,200 children in Illinois will be newly diagnosed with a critical illness that would make them eligible for a wish experience through Make-A-Wish.
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness. Since being founded locally in 1985, Make-A-Wish Illinois has granted more than 16,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish® with children in all areas of the state.
To welcome potential volunteers, brief online information sessions are scheduled for the next several weeks. The next info session is planned for February 4 at 5PM or February 13 at 8AM. Additional call in sessions are scheduled each week. Sign up for one today at illinois.wish.org/volunteer.
If you are a good fit with Make-A-Wish, you'll be paired up with a representative who will help take you through the process.
