There are so many songs that come roaring back every holiday season. They almost all feature a fat elf, garland, and a sleigh guided by what looks like a year's worth of food to Ted Nugent. How many holiday songs focus on Thanksgiving? One. Yeah, there are 18,000 Christmas songs, but there's only one Alice's Restaurant. The classic tale of the young litterer who gets picked up by police and given the option of 'righting' himself by joining the U.S. Army.

As you keep an eye on the the Bears game and sneak as many glasses of wine as you can this Thanksgiving, be sure to tune in to 96.7 The Eagle at noon and 4 p.m. for Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant." Arlo is the son of folk singing legend Woody Guthrie and the man can spin a yarn. So, grab the family and gather 'round the hi-fi for "Alice's Restaurant" this turkey day.

If you were at Woodstock, you probably don't remember this because, hey, you were at Woodstock. Arlo played the festival and was featured in the film singing "Coming Into Los Angeles." I'm starting to think Arlo had some problems with the law.
