Famous Wisconsin Beer Company Is Closing Two Popular Brewery Locations

I can dare say that I grew up around beer. My dad was a big fan. There was always a case in our fridge at all times. My parents would put a little bit in my bottle if I got fussy while we were out somewhere. We took vacations centered around brewery tours.

I believe I had the best beer t-shirt collection of any underage kid that I've ever met. I even wore them to school a lot. It was a different era back then. Parents did stuff like that. Nowadays, they would get arrested.

Back in those days, there wasn't the selection of microbrews and imports like there is today. So since there weren't many choices, beer fans knew them all. Those beverages became famous. Like anything else, the business grew and expanded.

My dad was such a huge fan of beer that he was always looking for new brands to try, especially the smaller companies. One of his favorites was Leinenkugel. He would order it all the time. That's why he didn't mind going to Wisconsin.

I heard some sad news today and it's made a lot of beer fans upset. Leinenkugel has decided to close two of its most famous breweries. I remember visiting them was younger and actually had a good time.

Molson Coors, the owners of Leinenkugel made a really sad announcement. They will be closing two of their legendary breweries. These locations are in Chippewa Falls and on 10th Street in Milwaukee. It will never be the same again.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
