Its been pretty dry around here lately besides the short rain we got last night here in Rockford. Maybe that's why fires keep popping up. Another fire popped up this weekend, this time in Janesville. At the 200 block of Holiday Drive Sunday afternoon, firefighters were dispatched due to a small fire that started on an apartment balcony according to WIFR.com.

The fire damaged about 1/3 of the building. None of the residents were injured but a Janesville firefighter was sent to the hospital after receiving a cut on his hand. Chief Ronald Bomkamp said, " Hopefully by later tonight we can let the residents go get their stuff, Everyone is displaced here. Red Cross is on scene helping along with Swept giving rehab and water for the firefighters on scene. At this time the extent of the damages to the apartment building or the cause of the fire has not been released.
