Looks like a bar rule that we all loved and helped tons of bars and restaurants navigate through tough pandemic times in the early 2020s is being made permanent in Illinois.

Cocktails to Go Are Officially Here to Stay in Illinois
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bipartisan law that makes cocktails to go permanent in Illinois. Exactly as it sounds, this allowed bars and restaurants to offer mixed drinks and cocktails for delivery and curbside pickup. This was a COVID-era change needed for watering holes and other establishments to survive, and it is now locked in Senate Bill 618.
Sam Toia, CEO and President of the Illinois Restaurant Association:
We thank Gov. Pritzker and applaud the General Assembly for passing Senate Bill 618, which guarantees that alcohol delivery and cocktails-to-go can continue through 2028 and beyond, preserving a vital source of revenue for restaurants across the state.

Alcohol Delivery and Brewery Rewards Also Included
The law also keeps alcohol delivery legal statewide, which should also boost revenue for bars and restaurants. Craft breweries also have reason to celebrate, as they can now offer loyalty and rewards programs, including mug clubs, which are also covered under this new bill.
