Illinois’ Cold Snap Forces Chicago Bears to Make Changes for This Saturday’s Game

If you have tickets for this Saturday's game (12/24) at Soldier Field against the Buffalo Bills, there are a few important changes you need to know before you go.

How Cold is Too Cold for Football?

If you're a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, I'm sure there are not many things that will keep you from cheering on your favorite team from the seats of Soldier Field, but can someone please explain to me why freezing your face off is worth it?

I may not know much about football, but I do understand that enduring cold games are nothing new for Chicago Bears players and fans. In fact, sometimes the cold weather can be a winning advantage for the Bears when they play teams that aren't as seasoned to freezing on the field, but this Saturday's Christmas Eve game against the Buffalo Bills is a whole different ball game.

With high winds and well below-zero wind chills expected Saturday night in Chicago, the Bears have made some temporary changes for tomorrow's game both inside and outside of Soldier Field.

According to WGN, here are some items that WON'T be allowed while tailgating on Saturday, December 24;

• Tents
• Flags
• Firepits/open fires
• Deep fryers, any oil-based cooking or frying
• Open flames
• Infrared panels or propane heaters or any type
• Tents, canopies, or umbrellas of any size
• Tethered blimps, balloons, or other oversized inflatables

While tailgating grilling hasn't been officially outlawed for this Saturday's game, using a charcoal grill to do so is strongly discouraged.
