NFL Schedule Leaks Say Bears Open Against Panthers
It might only be a Thursday in May, but it’s starting to feel like football season around here.
We’re expected to hear later today who the Monsters of the Midway will be playing each week during the NFL season, and while I can wait, some folks are apparently leaking the information.
Can you believe it? There is literally someone telling the internet the NFL schedule ahead of its release. That’s a whole new level of craziness about pro football that I didn’t think I’d ever see or hear of, but it’s 2026, so anything and everything is on the table.

The Craziness of NFL Schedule Leaks in 2026
While leaks are everywhere, reports say we know who the Bears will play in Week 1 to kick off the NFL season: the Carolina Panthers.
This is the same team that, years ago, essentially swapped #1 picks. The Panthers had the #1 in 2023 from the Bears in a trade-up scenario. The Bears got the Panthers what turned out to be the #1 pick the year after.
The Panthers selected Bryce Young, who has had his moments, while the Bears took Caleb Williams. Thus far, Williams has been the better of the two, but Young has shown some flashes. As a Bears fan, it’s Williams by a country mile.

Battle of the #1 Picks: Caleb Williams vs. Bryce Young
Anyway, there was some talk about the Bears opening in Seattle against the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. I’m glad that’s not happening. Not saying the Panthers won’t test the Bears, but they’re not the same team.
We’ll get the whole schedule for the Bears’ 2026 season later today.
