The PSL Obsession Is Real For Iowa And Wisconsin
Technically, fall started last weekend but it really started when Starbucks rolled out their Pumpkin Spice Latte.
The cultural phenomenon that is the Pumpkin Spice Latte is unreal. I blame Starbucks for the existence of things like pumpkin scratch-and-sniff boxers, pumpkin spice Spam, pumpkin spice trash bags, and just stuff that does not need to be 'pumpkin spice' ever.
And it's all because of the latte.
You can protect yourself from becoming insufferably basic on Pumpkin Spice Day (which is actually October 1st) by following the FDA's recommendations. But it looks like Iowa and Wisconsin are already there.
Iowa Ranks #19 For PSL Obsessed
According to research from gambling.com, Iowa ranks #19 in the country for pumpkin spice latte lovers.
The study looked at Google Trends to see how many out of 4 'pumpkin spice latte' related keywords we were all searching within the last 90 days and who was searching them the most. The search keywords were:
- pumpkin spice latte
- Starbucks pumpkin spice latte
- pumpkin spice latte recipe
- pumpkin spice latte Starbucks
While Iowa ranks high, one Midwest state out ranks us all.
Wisconsin Is #5 In The Country For PSL Love
Holy latte love, Batman. Wisconsin came in at #5 for the most pumpkin spice latte obsessed states in the nation.
At this point, could you get tall boots and oversized flannels at the Starbucks drive-thrus in Wisconsin?
Also, for the record, the reason everyone loves pumpkin spice stuff isn't really because of the taste as much as it is the smell. The reason everyone becomes unglued for Starbucks's pumpkin spice latte is likely because of insane marketing.
