These photos look like they were taken in Florida, but nope this house is really located in the Hoosier state.

I'll Sell You Beachfront Property if You're Gullible

Remember when you were younger and if you were gullible someone would say "well if you're gullible, then I've got a beachfront property in Indiana state to sell you!"  Or sometimes they'd insert other landlocked states into that phrase.  While Indiana is landlocked due to the fact there is no ocean access to the state, however, there is lake access, and there IS beachfront property in the Hoosier state.  Case in point, this incredible house that looks like it would be sitting on the beach in a tropical location, but it's sitting on a beach in Indiana.

Stunning Beachfront House in Indiana

Not only is this house sitting beachfront near Lake Michigan, but this house looks like it fell out of a tropical setting and just happened to land in Indiana.  It's gorgeous.  This home was built in 1933 and is a bright pink marvel.  However, there is a caveat, whoever wants to live in this house does have to open it to the public once a year because of its history.  This home was a part of the Homes of Tomorrow Exhibition and a part of the 1933 World's Fair.

Here is what Coldwell Banker's listing for this property has to say about it:

The Florida Tropical House, designed for the southern Florida tropics, is a unique beachfront property in Beverly Shores, Indiana. Built in 1933 as part of the Homes of Tomorrow Exhibition at the 1933 World's Fair, it seamlessly integrates indoor & outdoor living spaces with spacious terraces and a distinctive flamingo pink exterior. Designed by architect Robert Law Weed in the Modernist style, the house was lovingly restored with over $2 million invested & has been subleased to current renter for about 25 years who is ready to pass the torch. This famous home offers a chance for a new renter to preserve its historical and architectural significance & create new memories while respecting its rich legacy.

This home is stunning, and will only set you back a cool $2,500,000.  As much as I would love to own a beachfront property, this one is just a tad outside of my price range (emphasis on the word "tad").  See the full listing, here.
