Popular Reality Show Filming In Wisconsin For Upcoming Season

Producers of the popular reality television show Top Chef must love them some cheese, sausage, cheese, beer and cheese.

Not only did the show announce a new host this week, but it also designated the state of Wisconsin as the site of its upcoming season.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, filming will take place in both Milwaukee and Madison later this year. The season is scheduled to debut in 2024.

The show's competition format pits some of the best chefs from across the country against each other to win a cash prize and the notoriety of being named "Top Chef."

Location plays a huge part in crafting the overall feel of each season. Dishes are often inspired by local cuisine and feature ingredients that are prevalent in the area (hello, cheese curds).

This will be Top Chef's 21st season and the first with new host and former season winner, Kristen Kish who takes over for long-time host Padma Lakshmi.

Top Chef is no stranger to filming in the Midwest. The show's fourth season was set in Chicago and won by popular Windy City chef Stephanie Izard.

The show's 16th season was filmed Midwest-adjacent when it featured Kentucky.

"We are honored to be able to welcome 'Top Chef' to Wisconsin for its upcoming season," Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said in a released statement. "We're proud to be known here for our rich food culture, talented chefs and exceptional local ingredients."

Foodies already have their heads spinning trying to figure out where the chef-testants will do culinary battle.

Imagine a sausage cook-off while racing the fleet-footed sausage mascots at a Brewers game.

They have to tailgate at Camp Randall Stadium for a Badgers game in Madison, right?

I'd also like to recommend a challenge where the chefs have to create dishes using Spotted Cow or any of the other tasty beverages from New Glarus Brewing Company.
