According to an article from First Alert 4, lawmakers in Missouri are looking to pass a bill that would give the power to landlords to deny tenants from renting who receive government assistance.

The law would include Section 8 Housing, and the article goes on to mention how landlords could also find out the possible tenants' credit scores, eviction records, and criminal records against them during the application process. Does this law make sense to you?

Honestly, if you own private property and want to rent it out I get why you support this new law 1000%. If you are a landlord you want to make sure your properties are going to people you can trust to pay on time and take care of your property. This law would give landlords as much power as possible to make those decisions. But obviously, there are a ton of people in Missouri who need government assistance in renting and this is devastating to them. If you are one of those people this could severely limit your renting options, and you are definitely getting the raw end of the deal if this law passes.
