Illinois Family Saw Silent ‘Black Diamond’ Object Over Their Home

It's not unusual for people to see unidentified objects in the sky, but what an Illinois family saw recently is certainly out of the ordinary. They say they witnessed a silent 'black diamond' object over their home and it was unlike anything they've seen before.

This new report from the National UFO Reporting Center website comes from Steeleville, Illinois. The incident happened the night of January 26, 2025 at around 7:20pm. Here are the exact words from their eyewitness testimony:

"Just stepped out of garage heading to house and it floated above house heading NW. it was dead silent and had glowing lights on bottom. Black Diamond shape floating in dead silence directly 80 ft above house heading NW at approximately 20 mph. Object had no sound whatsoever and very slight glowing lights on bottom front angle of craft."

This is one of those UAP/UFO reports where you have two possible responses. Whatever they saw was obviously not any known plane or flying object we know about so you can either accept that what they're saying is true or say it was either a hoax or a figment of their imagination.

There is only one conventional object that I can think of that might explain what they saw. The Steeleville, Illinois family says the 'black diamond' was 25 to 30 feet in size which means it could have been a very large drone, but that would almost have to be a military drone as few individuals or companies have drones of that magnitude.

File this under another of the weird night sightings in Illinois this year. Silent black diamonds are certainly a new one.
