Say it ain't so........

After 8 years, five in their current location, Kate's Pie Shop is closing its doors.

But all is not lost.

Per the Facebook post announcing the close, this doesn't mean the local favorite is gone forever.

They're merely transitioning from the current cafe setting, into something different. Though they haven't hinted as to what that is yet.

Kate's will close its doors, at the East Branch of the Rockford Public Library, for the final time Saturday, April 27th at 5pm.

As they move into their new kitchen they will be unable to take orders for the month of May, but Pie Club Members and those with upcoming event orders are still good to go.

But once the calendar moves to June, you'll be able to place orders once again.

Now through the 27th all of the shop’s merchandise, records, t-shirts, CDs, posters, backstage passes, are 50% off!

The custom paintings from the Painting and Pie Nights are on sale for $50 each. The would include paints of such as Cheap Trick, Kiss, Led Zepplin, and Jimi Hendrix.

Also, keep an eye out for Kate's at all your favorite area farmers markets.
