I have to admit, I got a little confused for a minute. I'm so used to elections being in March and November, that I couldn't figure out why my mom was talking about the Illinois primary being in June. I was wondering why there was so much political advertising going on already. Then I remember, yes we do vote this month.
Candidates Went All-Out For This Election
I don't know about you but my mailbox was filled every day for the last several weeks with political mailers. I was blown away because we never get that much mail. A lot of them were exactly the same. I guess the candidates went all-out for this election. Plus, many of the busy intersections around town were lined with political signs. There were all the radio and TV commercials too. My wife and I were trying to figure out how much money was spent on getting residents to vote. It had to be in the millions.

Illinois doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to politics, politicians, government, and elections. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of corruption and our state is in some serious trouble financially. The whole process can be very frustrating for residents. One brainiac in Illinois decided he was going to do something about it.
Illinois Idiot Arrested For Damaging Political Signs
A Crystal Lake man faces multiple felonies after police said he lit campaign signs on fire very early Tuesday, about four hours before polls opened, according to Crystal Lake police and court records.
The Crystal Lake Police Department accused Held in the complaint of burning the campaign signs of candidates posted at the Salvation Army Crystal Lake Corps Community Center at 290 W. Crystal Lake Ave. and at Veteran’s Acres Park at 431 N. Walkup Ave.
The suspect had destroyed over 25 signs throughout the campaign. They're valued at $25 each. To add insult to injury, they were for a police officer running for sheriff. He was charged with a felony. Remember, the smart ones don't end up with their name on the news.
