It looks like Illinoisians will now get an extra month to renew their expired driver's licenses, IDs, and license plate stickers. Residents will now have until November 1, 2020.

This extension will include items that will expire in  July, August, and September, so there's no need to rush to the Driver Services facilities.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White is encouraging folks to use the website, www.cyberdriveillinois.com, to use the online services such as renewing your sticker. If you need to renew your driver's license, you should fill out the preregistration application online first to make your transaction go faster too.

Facilities are still only serving new drivers, customers with expired driver’s licenses, ID cards, and vehicle transactions until July 31st. And as most places face masks are required.

Due to social distancing and high traffic volumes, people are being asked to be patient with wait times and having to brave the elements in doing so.
