Illinois Police Rescue Huge Turtle From Middle Of Highway

A big turtle was found in the middle of an Illinois highway and saved by police.

You have to always be alert when driving because you never know what you're going to run into on the road. This is a perfect example.

From the LeRoy Illinois Police Department Facebook page...

"This morning, Metcom sent us to I74 for a large turtle on the interstate. Callers were concerned it would cause an accident and/or be killed. LPD kept it out of the travel lanes until IDOT could get there and take it to a safe place. 🐢 Ideas for a hashtag ??"

That's something you don't see every day.
