As I was growing up, one of the most popular toys in my neighborhood was Legos, especially in the wintertime. They were definitely a lot different back in those days. When I was a kid, they weren't as detailed or sophisticated. You had to use your imagination to build things. Now, Legos are more like models than building blocks. I don't know if I have the skill to work with them as an adult.

A Plainfield woman will go before a Will County judge after police said she stole more than $1,000 worth of LEGO sets from Target.
The other thing about Legos, just like everything else in the world, is that they've gotten really expensive. Kids have to save their allowance for a long time to purchase just one set. That means this popular toy has made its way up the list of Children's items targeted to be stolen. Thieves have created quite the underground market for Legos.
It's funny because many Lego thefts in Illinois have started to be done by serial Lego thieves. It's not just a one-and-done crime; these criminals are committing multiple instances of theft. Sometimes from the same store. A woman in Illinois was arrested at a Target store in Plainfield. It was actually her tenth time stealing Legos from that store. Over the ten robberies, the merchandise totalled over $1,000. Not a bad little haul for stealing toys.
