Restaurants and bar employees have a chance to get an extra $1,000 into their bank accounts thanks to Samuel Adams. (The beer company, not one of the founding fathers of the United States.) This could definitely help someone in the nightlife or restaurant business that has been hit hard financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Originally, Sam Adams launched the "Restaurant Strong Fund" in only Massachusetts back in March that gives bar and restaurant workers a shot at $1,000 grant. Ultimately, the beer company decided to expand to19 states, including Illinois, according to WSIL.

Those states are: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Vermont.

Here's how it works:

Full-time bar and restaurant workers must live in one of the aforementioned states and you must submit their last two (2) full-time pay stubs. You must have worked a minimum of 30 hours total per week and it can be at multiple restaurants. You must have been employed for three (3) months or longer at the same location. You must also submit an application for a grant by April 30th. You can find more info or apply here.
