Melissa Blake is a freelance writer living in Dekalb, who after writing an opinion piece picked up by CNN, was trolled for her looks.

I wish I could say that I'm surprised that people attacked her for this reason, but I'm not. Her recent opinion piece was critical of President Trump, like Melissa, I assumed the comments would mostly be about her writing, instead it was all about her looks

"There were thousands of comments about my appearance"

"It's really disappointing that people instead of attacking what I write they attack how I look."

Melissa, a Dekalb native, was born with Freeman-Sheldon syndrome, according to wgntv.com. The disorder, which is present from birth, is characterized by joint deformities that restrict movement in the hands and feet and abnormalities of the head and face.

The trolls said Melissa should be banned from posting selfies on Twitter.

The outpouring of love and support has been huge, as you can clearly see in the tweet above.
