How Many Steps Does it Take to Walk Off Your Favorite Foods?
I have a pedometer that counts my steps, which I use daily. It is quite a handy little tool, which clips to my pant belt.
I've become obsessed with watching the number of steps I get daily. Sometimes I crush my 10,000 step a day goal, other days I can barely make it to 5,000.
It's a fantastic way to motivate myself to get up and move. I'm sure my co-workers think I'm insane. I'll be marching in place while having a conversation with them or they can catch me walking laps around the conference table while heating up my lunch.
I stumbled across a fantastic article on Thrillist today, explaining how many steps it takes to walk off some of the most common fast food items. I just had to share the list. I know I'm not the only step tracker out there!
12 oz. Can of Coke: 3,140 steps
Naked Juice Blue Machine: 3,820 steps
Snickers Bar: 4,840 steps
Beef Chalupa Supreme: 8,080 steps
Grande Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino: 9,220 steps
Big Mac: 12,140 steps
Whopper: 14,600 steps
Five Guys Cheeseburger: 18,880 steps
Chipotle Chicken Burrito (No Guac): 23,600 steps
Outback Bloomin' Onion: 43,920 steps
WOW! That is just incredible.
That really put things into perspective. A 12 oz. can of Coke for example has 140 calories. You would have to walk 1.57 miles, or 3,140 steps to walk it off.
Are your favorite foods on this list? Please excuse me while I go walk around in circles to burn off my lunch.
