Headed Out To Taste Of Chicago? Here’s What You Need To Know
If you like food and haven't been to The Taste Of Chicago, I'm not really sure what you're waiting for.
The only problem with The Taste is that there are too many options and if you don't pace yourself you can have a pretty upset stomach. Take your time. Share your food with others and you'll have a great time at one of the best festivals in the Midwest.
Here are all the details:
When: The Taste of Chicago runs from Wednesday, July 5 to Sunday, July 9. Hours of operation are from 10AM till 9PM.
How To Get There: Ideally you should take the train into Chicago for the festival. The Metra from Harvard will take you right downtown. From the train station, Taste is either a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute cab ride. It's up to you. I'd walk it just to begin working off the extra calories. If you have to drive, your best bet for parking is probably the Millennium Park Garage. It's clean, safe, and you're right there.
If you are driving, you should know that there will be many street closings close to the loop. Your GPS might not be able to help you.
Tickets: Admission is free. After that food and beverage tickets are $10 for 14 tickets. Food prices vary from vendor to vendor but when I went most things were between 6 and 10 tickets. $30 will get you plenty of food. Here's a list of every vendor this year.
There are also some musical acts this year. Performers this year include Alessia Cara, Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals, and the O'Jays. You can buy your concert tickets here.
I hope you get a chance to go. Chicago is a great city that we have easy access to. Summer in Chicago is one of the best places to be.
