Back in those days, everything was much cheaper. The admission prices were affordable so you could check out multiple attractions throughout the year. Nowadays, the cost of going to those places has skyrocketed. You're lucky if you could go to one of them each year.
Some of the top attractions in Illinois figured out the average family can't afford to make frequent and multiple trips to their places. They came up with a plan. That is free days. That allows everyone the opportunity to visit. Especially, when they're looking for things to do over the winter.
Of course, it's not on prime days but residents can take a family bonding day off to check them out. All you have to do is show your Illinois ID and you're all good.
