Foodies Will Be Obsessed with Illinois’ New Korean BBQ Joint
Take all your preconceived "flavor town" notions and throw them away like week-old leftovers, there's a new restaurant in Loves Park, Illinois that is going to blow your tastebuds away.
The above photo is enough to make me want to check this place out. It was taken before this new restaurant's decor was complete. The completed look is unlike anything you will see north of the windy city.
Welcome to KBQ Korean BBQ & Chicken (6332 E Riverside Blvd, Loves Park)
The first Korean restaurant in the Rockford region, KQB has menu options foodies could previously only dream of.
You're about to read descriptions for some of the delicacy waiting inside KBQ but, to be clear, the photos along the way are not necessarily what is being described.
First, this is an authentic Korean eating experience, meaning guests sit around an open fire and enjoy the "camaraderie" of cooking your own meet with your friends and family.
This unique culinary experience will help you appreciate every bite as you choose what kind of meat you want and how you want it cooked.
You've got plenty of meat options to choose from at KBQ, steak & tenderloin, marinated loin steak and tenderloin, marinated short rib, brisket, marinated ribeye, pork belly, spicy marinated pork, and soy-marinated chicken.
Don't worry, non-meat eaters, there's s vegan patty served with fresh veggies too.
That soup though. Check out this description straight from the menu.
Ttuk-Baegi Bulgogi
A soup for the meat lovers soul, this hot pot is packed with tender slices of our special marinated ribeye, coupled with glass noodles, and simmered with perfectly paired vegetables in a bra that will have you begging for more.
The owner, who also owns Shogun and Izakaya 88, has done it again.
KBQ opens March 1 and you can see the entire menu here.
Here's a little peek at what to expect.
