Illinois is home to many haunted locations throughout the state. It's funny because many of the top ones are old theaters. I guess ghosts like to be entertained, too. One of those famous haunted theaters is the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb.

Join the Theatre staff as they share all the secrets and stories with a ‘balcony to backstage’ tour that focuses not only on the history of the building that opened in 1929 but also all of the Theatre’s ghostly guests.

 

This tour, which is in the dark using only your flashlights, starts in our lobby and will include climbing stairs and extended periods of standing.

The Egyptian Theatre hosts these events quite often. If you're looking to add it to your Halloween fun, they have one scheduled for October 10th. They do serve adult beverages at the concession stand, so you can have spirits with spirits.
