For most of my life, I didn't believe in ghosts. I had never experienced any sort of paranormal activity. Even at locations that were known for being haunted. Then I went on a couple of ghost hunts with a couple of experts. That definitely changed my opinion.

There are plenty of chances to experience some sort of paranormal activity in Illinois and Wisconsin because both states have locations that are famous for their ghosts. The question is where are the most haunted places in each state?

Let's start with Illinois. The most haunted place in our state is really no surprise. It's old Joliet Prison. It might sound familiar because it's been used for both movies and TV shows. It was home to some of the most notorious criminals of all time. The ghosts of former inmates haunt the place.

For Wisconsin, the most haunted place is not exactly what you would expect and the complete opposite of Old Joliet Prison. It's the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee which is a really nice place. It's the hotel of choice in Brew City for pro athletes and celebrities. Many who have had paranormal experiences.

Old Joliet Prison now hosts events including a Blues Brothers festival which was filmed in the facility. Some Major League baseball players refuse to stay at the Pfister Hotel because they've had paranormal experiences.
