Eagle Flashback 1994, NFL and NBA Future Stars Take on Rockford Lutheran Basketball Team
Back in 1994 the Rockford Lutheran Crusaders hosted Mt Carmel in a star studded basketball game. The SOLD OUT Crusaders gym was loud, filled with energy, and got to see a show for the ages.
There were only two basketball classes back in 1994, so Rockford Lutheran was the "little" school in the land of giants. The Crusaders held their own, but it was Mt Carmel with the victory 76-62.
The court was filled with Division I college basketball players, but it was two Mt Carmel players that went on to go next level.
Donavan McNabb who went to Syracuse and then became an NFL Star QB for the Vikings, and Antonio Walker who played basketball at Kentucky and then had a great career as a member of the Boston Celtics.
