Radio Hall of Famer, Dr. Demento, discusses his new project, Covered in Punk, with Double T on 96.7 The Eagle.

I have a rule. Whenever I get a chance to talk to a legend, I do it.

That's the case with Dr. Demento. He's a member of the Radio Hall of Fame. I really enjoyed listening to his weekly show as a kid.

If you're not familiar with him, I recommend you look him up. His program featured novelty, comedy, and unusual songs. Plus, he had a unique delivery. He helped launch the career of Weird Al.

Growing up, my friends and I would record him to play at school during recess. If I had to pick the quintessential song played on the Dr. Demento Show, it has to be "Fish Heads."

He has a new project out now called, "Dr. Demento Cover in Punk." He worked on it with longtime punk producer, John Cafiero, who is known for his work with The Ramones and The Misfits.

I got the opportunity to talk with Dr. Demento and John Cafiero to discuss "Dr. Demento Covered in Punk." Here's how it went.

The new album has famous artists covering some of the "classic" Dr. Demento songs. Some of them include Adam West, William Shatner, Weird Al, and Joan Jett to name of few.
