BBQ and Booze Lovers Will Get The Best Of Both At New Illinois Restaurant
Do you know goes great with summer? Barbecue. Do you know what goes great with summer and barbecue? Booze. (Duh.) The opening of a new restaurant in Byron, Illinois is anticipated to open before summer's end.
For more than a year a spot in Byron has sat empty. A lot of time has gone by since the space operated as Aero Ale House (Byron). I had noticed people walking in and out of the property over the past month or so but was unsure what was happening inside.
During Aero's Byron era, the tacos were my jam along with an ice-cold draft. But, for whatever reason, it would close. The space was for sale throughout its closure but didn't change hands. That's not something to be mad about either because the owner, who also owns Bub's and The Cave Inn (both in Byron), The Hunt Club (Oregon), The Idle Hour (Mt. Morris), and Aero Ale House (Loves Park) has a knack for good food and great staff.
I was surprised when I saw an unfamiliar sign popped up on the rear of what was once known as Aero Ale House in Byron.
There it was across the parking lot, some sort of banner with a pig. The banner didn't include very much information but what it did has was all that is needed for locals to be excited about another unique dining experience, barbecue.
The Deaf Pig is expected to open in August of 2022. Here is a closer look at the name and sign. And, since we're talking about food there is a list of every small town steak joint you need to check out.
