Da Coach, Iron Mike, Chicago Bears Superbowl Head Coach....Mike Ditka has always been no filter, so this isn't really a surprise.

Coach Ditka speaking to CNN about athletes taking a knee during the National Anthem:

"If it was up to me, I'd say no, if you can't respect our national anthem, get the hell out of the country. That's the way I feel. Of course, I'm old- fashioned. So, I'm only going to say what I feel." - Mike Ditka

Da Coach has said what was on his mind for years. Back in 2017 he was asked about kneeling for the anthem to which he responded:

"There has been no oppression in the last 100 years that I know of." Mike Ditka

Coach Ditka has since apologized for those comments.

Old fashioned, different generation, "old school," sure...But once again, just because you have the platform to speak that doesn't mean you have to.

"I think there's a way you protest, and there's a way you don't protest, you don't protest against the flag, and you don't protest against this country who has given you the opportunity to make a living, playing a sport, you never thought would happen. So, I don't want to hear all the crap. You want to try it, try it. You don't, it's okay." - Mike Ditka

Chunky Soup, anyone?
