I never took the time to understand this whole Bitcoin thing, but I guess it still is a thing. Chipotle restaurants will be giving away $100,000 in Bitcoin on Thursday, but why you ask? Because it's National Burrito Day...duh.  CNN

So here's how this works...go to the website, BurritosorBitcoin and you try to guess their six digit code. You get ten guesses. That's literally all this is...Guessing a number. Reminds me of the scene in "Vegas Vacation" where they play War or  "Guess a Number" at a casino. Correct guesses could win up to $25,000 in Bitcoin, or a free burrito. The chain (with locations in Rockford and Machesney Park) will be giving away $100,000 in free food tomorrow too! Play the game online, and if you get a free burrito...head to a local Chipotle location and dig in!

There will be 53 actual Bitcoin winners:

  • 50 win $500
  • 3 win $25,000
  • 10,000 a burrito

I'm seriously o.k. with winning a Chipotle burrito, that's just fine with me. I guess I'd take the Bitcoin thing, but I think celebrating National Burrito Day is like Christmas or Easter. Why is National Burrito Day not a bigger holiday? This is a day that needs decorations and family gatherings.

Chipotle has confirmed, this isn't some sort of an April Fools joke, this is legit and they are giving away Bitcoin and burritos on National Burrito Day. I just love the randomness of this promotion...It's like hey, Happy Halloween here's a microwave!
